Fashion Fights Poverty

The 2012 Fashion Fights Poverty Dress Responsibly Gala is our biggest and most ambitious presentation yet.
This 3 hour fashion event will include: Cocktail reception, runway and dance performance show, followed by a 1 hour live exhibition of models and designs. Plus a silent auction of designer items!
Produced by Violetta Markelou, the gala will feature a fashion show and presentations by some of the most visionary eco/ethical designers today, including Project Runway Season 7 winner, Seth Aaron Henderson; renewable fabric apparel designer, Earthtec; EcoArtFashion founder, Luis Valenzuela (recycled paper dress shown in invite); 2011 Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Designers Award recipient, Tara St. James (Study NY); local DC metro area designers, Laura Williams and Ginger Root; NY-based sustainable fabric lingerie designer, Daisy & Elizabeth; LA-based eco-friendly designer, LAVUK; Canadian swimwear and apparel designer, Ashley Zaba; vegan shoes and bag designer Cri-de-Ceour; and animal activist and creator of the "12 in 12 for 12" campaign, Gabby Wild.

The seventh annual Fashion Week El Paseo™ unfolds March 16-24, 2012 under The Big White Tent on Larkspur between El Paseo and Shadow Mountain in Palm Desert, CA — the heart of Palm Desert's most celebrated shopping district: El Paseo.
Showcasing the newest collections by top designers as well as fresh ideas by emerging designers from Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, the Palm Springs Life-produced Fashion Week El Paseo™ is one of the desert's most popular events.
Stars of Project Runway will be showing Wednesday the 21st. Featuring Michael Costello, Mondo Guerra, Mila Hermanovski, Michael Drummond, Kara Janx, Gordana Gehihausen, Joshua Christensen, and Seth Aaron.
